Livestock Waste Management: Anaerobic Digesters
Purpose: To provide cost share funding to support the installation of anaerobic digesters on swine farms in North Carolina.
Support:
- Phase I: Funding was received in July 2022 from the North Carolina General Assembly via the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services to install up to 15 anaerobic digesters on swine farms in Sampson & Duplin Counties in North Carolina by June 2024.
- Phase II: Additional funding has been provided by Align RNG to support the installation of additional anaerobic digesters on swine farms in Sampson & Duplin Counties.
Current Work:
- As of June 15, 2023, the Foundation is now accepting applications on a rolling basis from swine growers who wish to install an anaerobic digester on their farm.
